Profile:

Budd Larner formally Weiner & Weiner, is a boutique labor and employment law firm. Paul I. Weiner and Joshua L. Weiner represent almost fifty years of experience in the field of employment and labor law and represent small to large companies. We provide big firm representation and service at small firm rates. Our clients know they deal with one attorney (not five). We work closely with many different industries and clients on a one-to-one basis and look for practical solutions whenever possible instead of lengthy costly litigation. Our services cover litigation, administrative and arbitration proceedings, preventive practices and audits, and management training.

Employment Law and Litigation: We handle a full range of discrimination cases, whistleblower matters, wrongful discharge litigation, and actively defend them with unique and novel strategies.

Employment Law Preventive Practices: We assist and facilitate the client’s ability to prevent serious employment litigation. The firm provides three types of services including a modest monthly retainer to assist management with day to day employment law problems and questions. We develop and prepare employee handbooks to meet the practical legal needs of the company. Our training programs are extensive (see our website). They include but are not limited to performance appraisals; discrimination and litigation from a management’s standpoint; preventing sexual harassment in the workplace; handling and responding to the whistleblower; dealing with difficult employees and many others.

Labor Law: The firm has substantial experience in dealing with unions and labor law issues from a management standpoint. We offer services in negotiating collective bargaining agreements, representation at arbitration, handling union elections, defending unfair labor practices, handling union benefit audits and handling the labor relations of employers.

Wage and Hour: The firm defends management in wage and hour audits and administrative court proceedings. We help clients develop practices and policies that prevent these problems and aggressively defend them before the Department of Labor and individual claimants.

Occupational Safety and Health Law: Paul I. Weiner has represented companies in both defending the company from OSHA citations and fines and developing safety and health preventive policies.
