Our practice is limited to advising and representing attorneys and judges in matters of legal ethics, attorney discipline and judicial conduct. We help lawyers with admission and reinstatement to the bar, house counsel qualification, random audits and demand audits. We provide opinions, advice and prophylactic ethics “audits” to law firms, and we answer questions for attorneys across New Jersey.

We can evaluate your situation, demystify the process and answer your questions. We understand the pressure and anxiety that are part of any attorney’s interface with the Office of Attorney Ethics.

We represent our colleagues in all 21 counties. Marc appears before the District Ethics Committees, Ethics Special Masters, the Disciplinary Review Board (DRB), the Advisory Committee on Judicial Conduct (ACJC) the Committee on Attorney Advertising and the Supreme Court. He frequently represents attorneys and bar candidates before the Committee on Character.

Marc Garfinkle is a former Ethics Investigator and past Chair of District VB Attorney Ethics Committee. He writes a regular column for the NJ Law Journal, lectures to attorneys from coast to coast, and is frequently quoted in the media in matters of legal ethics. Marc has been Public Defender in the Twp. of Livingston since 2005 and Adjunct Professor of Persuasion and Advocacy at Seton Hall Law School since 2007. Our paralegal assistant, Theresa Serio, has been with Marc since 1996.
