Federal and state securities litigation, arbitrations, regulatory and enforcement matters, investment adviser formation and compliance, and public and private offerings. He has been an expert witness.

Mr. Cobert was an Assistant Attorney General (NY) from 1974 until 1979, responsible for civil and criminal enforcement of the Martin Act. From 1980 to 1985 he was general counsel to a regional broker dealer. In 1985 he joined Schenck, Price, Smith & King as a partner. From 1985 to 1991 he was an Adjunct Assistant Professor at NYU’s Real Estate Institute. In 1991 he established his own law firm.

Mr. Cobert was chair of the New Jersey Lawyer Magazine Editorial Board from 2003-2006 and chair or co-chair of the Morris County Bar Association Securities Committee since 1993. He was President of the Morris County Bar Association in 2006.
